All twelve photos that will appear in next year's HCS Calendar are shown below, followed by a picture of all the 75 entries, displayed ready for the judging.

Some of the other entries will feature on the front cover of the calendar.

You can reserve/pre order a calendar by emailing

The calendars should be available mid October and will be on sale at Elson Newsagent, Hartford Post Office and Littlers Butchers(TBC). They will also be on sale from our Civic Society stall at the Victorian Christmas Fayre. The price will be £5.00, the same as previous years. All proceeds go straight back into the village.

Our next coach trip......

Our second coach trip this year will be on Wednesday 31st October and will cost just £14 which covers the cost of the coach and the driver’s tip. Entrance to the property for non-N.T. members costs £16.90 but members of Hartford Civic Society are entitled to a one day free pass through its membership of Civic Voice.  These will be obtained for our members. Non-members might consider joining the society which costs just £7. Quite a saving !

The coach will leave the village at 9.15am from our usual pick-up spot by the bus stop outside the Parish Church on Chester Road and should arrive at the Hall by 11.00am or soon after. No guided tours are available so everyone is free to wander at will. The Hall is open between 1.00pm and 5.00pm. The Museum opens at 11.00am and closes at 5.00pm. The tea room serves light lunches and home-made cakes. and is open from 10.30am until 4.00pm, which is the exact time that we will be leaving for home. There is a gift shop of course, plant sales, sweets, ice creams and toys. There is also a second hand book shop.

Access to the Hall for wheelchairs is possible but not easy. However, the Museum presents no problems and even has a lift between the two floors. Transport from the car park to The Hall can be arranged for the less mobile in the group.
