November's Litter Pick is CANCELLED

Our next litter pick has been cancelled.

It would have taken place on Sunday 10th November, but that would clash with the Remembrance Day parade in the village.

Anyway, there are currently far more leaves on the ground than litter, so we will give it a miss and meet again on December 8th.

Last Sunday's litter pick was a success

Despite pretty awful weather last Sunday, ten regulars turned out to do the litter pick and we collected 15 sacks of rubbish.

I would just like to thank everyone who helped. You contributions are invaluable and much appreciated.

As I was picking litter, a jogger ran by and said "Thank you" to me. While it was nice to receive some thanks, we don't do it for thanks. We do it to keep our local environment tidy. We could do with more people helping us and, more to the point, less people dropping the litter in the first place. Please spread the word.

Baddesley Clinton - A Great day out

Our coach trip, today, to Baddesley Clinton, was a great success.

The house was lovely and the gardens were magnificent.

And, despite all the rain we have had recently, it was superb weather from start to finish.

So, thank you to Pat Hatfield for organising it. Once again you chose the right day.

Numbers were down a little on our previous trips, possibly because of the recent lousy weather and possibly because it took place later than usual, October rather than September. But the ones who did go all had a great day out.

I attach some photos of the day:

There were more than a hundred different varieties of dahlia in the gardens. Here is just one of them
