Local History

On this website we will be concentrating on recording the history of our village, but much of that history is influenced or dictated by that of the surrounding region. Also, as a small village, records do not exist for some older periods but we can guess what conditions were like from what was happening on a wider scale.

For these reasons we will also include a history of the district, in the Local History section, where that is of interest.

Click on the links to the left to see the articles that we have already - these will be expanded over time so keep coming back if local history interests you.

If you have anything you would like to contribute - either in the form of articles or old papers and photographs we would love to hear from you.
