Hartford Grange - The house and farm

Hartford Grange was knocked down in 1921, when Brunner Mond & Company bought it and its associated farm, in order to build houses for its senior managers.  Only its stable block, its high red-brick wall fronting Chester Road and the farmhouse remain.  What was Hartford Grange like (we would love to have a photograph) and who lived there?  Local author and historian Anne Loader started some research to answer a question about one of its residents, but found it so fascinating as she uncovered more and more, that she decided to write it up in a 62 page document, which you can download by clicking on the following link:    Hartford Grange
